I am so excited to reveal a custom brand and Showit website for my incredible Artful Branding & Website client, Megan Welker Photography.
Megan Welker is a lifestyle and wedding photographer serving clients in Central California and beyond. Her romantic, airy, and authentic photography has been featured in Brides, Style Me Pretty, Martha Stewart Weddings, and more. Through classic type pairings, a romantic color palette, and a simplistic yet elevated logo, we positioned the brand as sophisticated with a brand aesthetic that mirrors her work and reflects the high-end experience she offers.
Direction Board
Megan first came to me with a logo and website she felt no longer reflected her brand well. After taking one look at her incredible imagery, I knew we could create a brand and website that really reflected her work and wedding experience she offers.
I loved the heart behind Megan’s work: capturing people as they are during their most treasured moments. Not a pose, nothing forced, just their love. So they can look back on these images in fifty years and remember exactly how they were feeling in that moment, on that day, with the one they love.
Together we created a completely new experience for her clients from a custom brand, to beautifully designed welcome and investment guides, to a comprehensive Showit website.
It’s always my goal to learn about my client’s process and their long term vision before I make any design decisions so I know the brand will solve a problem for them and truly attract their ideal client.
Goals
•Create a brand and website that welcomes potential clients into Megan’s elevated wedding experience by highlighting her curated process and by featuring past couples throughout her site
•Create an elevated yet approachable brand and process from inquiry to welcome and investment guides so clients experience an on-brand experience at every touch point
•Design a classic and timeless brand that reflects Megan’s style and will evolve overtime as her business continues to grow
The Design Process
With these goals in mind, I selected each design element with intention. I started with selecting the color palette- it was inspired by Megan’s work that is filled with golden light, rolling hills, and beautiful floral bouquets. It’s safe to say her palette of dreamy neutrals with a touch of blush has my heart.
For the main font of the brand, I knew I wanted the typography to be a classic and timeless. We landed on a beautiful serif that is perfectly understated. I paired that with a floral submark that represented Megan so well and paired beautifully with the main logo. From there, I moved onto selecting font pairings and ended up sourcing a new favorite which is a beautiful italic that we used as headings throughout the website. I paired this with a handwritten script and used it sparingly for accents- the result of this font hierarchy is just so elevated.

Website Design
For Megan’s website we started with a Showit template and completely customized it from top to bottom to fit her new brand. From multiple wedding gallery features, to a comprehensive wedding details page, to two inquiry forms (one for weddings & one for portrait inquiries)- no detail went untouched.
Here’s what Megan had to say about working together…
“I can’t believe how seamless, easy, and beautiful this process has been. Katie is the absolute best and I will sing her praises until the end of time.”
