Artful Branding is my custom branding experience that I spent a year developing to elevate my client’s identity and their ideal customer’s experience when they interact with the brand. My background as an artist helps me look at graphic design from a different view point and my education in communications/advertising helps me look at the strategy behind the design. Let’s just say, we do things a bit differently here and look at every brand that comes through with an artful lens.
I love design that is clean, elevated, soft, simplistic, yet sophisticated. We often ask ourselves, what can we take away versus what can we add so the design really speaks for itself. I value creativity over all else in business and my mission is to live a life that is even more beautiful than the brand I’ve built. That’s also what I want for my clients.
All of the brands that I take on have that artful je ne sais quoi. Whether it’s a hand painted custom pattern, or a hand sketched element to the logo design- there is always going to be a bespoke piece to your branding that is unlike anything else in your industry. I love the emotional appeal that small businesses have with their customers so before I ever jump into any design for my clients I always ask them, “What do we want people to think and feel when they are interacting with the brand?” and who is your ideal client that we want to be speaking directly to? Once we have gone deep into the brand discovery questionnaire and I have a clear understanding of your customer, I start in on the direction board. This is my favorite part of the design process where I can get really creative and dream up a fresh new identity for your business. I pull inspiration from all industries for this phase of design and put together font pairings, a potential color palette, pattern inspiration, submark inspiration, and brand imagery standards. You can read more about our philosophy on direction boards here.
Artful branding is about creating beautiful, functional brands that sell. Your brand should work for you and attract your ideal customer and you should be proud of it. After all, this is your life’s work.
