‘Tis the Season…to throw a holiday party! I can barely believe that 2015 is coming to an end. Is it just me or do the years seem to go by quicker and quicker?! This year I’m hosting a holiday party because we never had any sort of house warming so it seemed like the right thing to do. Here is some inspiration I’ve dug up to host my “holiday spirits” party. I hope this helps you get in the mood to dig out those decorations and start enjoying the season or even throw your own party.
-To Send-
I’m a huge fan of Paperless Post for emailed invites. If I had more time on my hands, I would’ve designed my own invites. Here is the invite I chose. When deciding which invite to use, it’s always nice to have a few details of the party planned out and have the design tie in with the overall theme. I know my decor will be minimalist and mostly greenery so this was the pick for me. Plus the party is going to be focused around a spiked hot cocoa bar as well as a his and her cocktail so the “holiday spirits” aspect fit right in.
-To Drink-
I love the idea of a his and her drink served on a bar station so guests can build their own drink. Nick requested the guy’s drink to be an old-fashioned and I think for the ladies we will do some sort of a holiday sangria. We will also have a spiked hot cocoa bar. Here is an entire list of holiday cocktails for extra inspiration.
-To Eat-
I haven’t completely figured out the small bites yet because well, I don’t plan that far ahead. I do know one app will surely be brandy baked brie with cranberries, brown sugar, and walnuts. It’s simple and so delicious, perfect to throw together for your guests.
-To Decorate-
I’m definitely looking forward to this part of throwing a holiday party. This will be the first year I’ve put in any effort as far as decorating. When it comes to Christmas decor, I like to keep it nice and natural. Lots of greenery, homemade wreathes, pinecones, flowers, and candles are a good start. I’m going to try to make everything so the cost stays down and it feels thoughtful.

Your Christmas party sounds like you have some great ideas and with your creative mind it will be great. It is so nice you have your own apartment to decorate and again with your abilities it will be fantastic. Your menu sounds like you are off to a good start. Being a hot chocolate lover you got my attention. I am sure the evening will be fantastic. Best wishes and I will forward to hearing about it. Happy Thanksgiving to you and all of your family Katie.
It’s so nice to hear from you! Nothing at my party will top Carloe’s Christmas spread 😉 I hope you both are doing well and have a happy Thanksgiving!
Makes me want to throw the most beautiful, intimate, lovely holiday party of all time. Great post! And I love those pink and gold baubles–so pretty!-Julia at List Maker, Picture Taker
Hi Julia! I’m hoping it’s a hit but my Pinterest life and real life turn out so different from each other sometimes HA! I am going to try and copy those baubles…swoon. Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting!

I can relate! Speaking of pinterest fails…my mom just lit her oven on fire using one of those DIY cleaners! So if the baubles come out less than perfect, just keep in mind that it can always be worse 😉
Haha oh no! Thanks for the reminder 🙂
