LATELY9This is how I blog when I’m on time crunch and need to hit the road and get back to the cities after an extended weekend in Brainerd. I hate the idea of being so busy that I don’t have time to enjoy life. Nothing quite makes you realize that you have free time like spending three days in Brainerd when you’re used to the cities, so here is what I have done lately to fill up that time.

Finishing up “Girl Boss” by Sophia Amoruso. Entrepreneur or not, there is something valuable in this book for females. Some of my favorite excerpts include…

“I don’t think you can truly know what you’re made of until you are in charge of your days How you use that time, and the work you pursue, teaches you so much about who you are and what you can become…It’s possible I figured out what I wanted to do by people telling me I couldn’t or shouldn’t do it. It’s really astounding how discouraging people can be, especially if it’s something that seems particularly risky…Be a leader even in teams of one because in the beginning, there’s a lot of that! You have to listen, really listen, and root for other people’s success. That’s a big one. Because it won’t always be you, but eventually, it will be…For me creativity isn’t just in my work, it’s how I think and live my life.”

Next I want to read “Not that Kind of Girl” by Lena Dunham.

Lately, I’ve been listening to the artist Birdy. Specifically her song “The District Sleeps Alone Tonight.” While I listed to her I drew this new print. It’s in the shop here. Speaking of the shop, I redid the whole thing last week and am transitioning from Etsy to my big cartel shop that I love. My new site is qkshop.bigcartel.com Do me a favor and check it out and if you would like to order something, order from that shop. Soon my Etsy shop will be disappearing.

I’ve been reading Gal Meets Glam like crazy lately (one of my favorite blogs) because she’s on a Europe tour. Through her blog I just discovered The Londoner. Just when I think I’m getting my obsessive blog reading under control, I discover an overseas blogger and now my problem is on another level. It’s a must though, because all of my favorite bloggers just had babies and are taking a hiatus from their blogs…that I still check on the daily.

I’m currently online shopping for a blanket scarf, wrap coat and black skinny jeans. I linked to some just in case you’re in the same boat as me.

This weekend we saw gone girl. Best movie I have ever seen minus the ending that will make you think about this film days after leaving the theater. Watch the trailer here.

Recently took a trip to boyfriend’s uncle’s farm and the images are above. Fall is in full swing here and we are holding on by the tips of our fingers before we are punished by another brutal winter.

How’s that for a link filled blog post? I hope you find something interesting in here that can help fill your free time!

Thanks for stopping by!
